160kg contraband hashish confiscated from truck in Parsa

BIRGUNJ: Police in Parsa district today have made public a huge quantity of hashish confiscated on Sunday evening.

Police confiscated 160 kilograms of hashish from a truck which was headed towards Birgunj from Manahari in Makawanpur district, and also arrested its driver at Belwar, at around 7:00 pm yesterday.

The arrested has been identified as Sagar Bal (29) of Padampokhari in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-12 of Makawanpur district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police personnel impounded the truck (Na 4 Kha 2985) at Parwanipur-Milanchok road section, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Rewati Dhakal at Parsa District Police Office (DPO). The illegal drugs were found hidden at the false bottom in the body cabin of the vehicle.

Police said that the contraband was being carried into the Indian territory via Birgunj.

Meanwhile, the DPO informed that investigation into the case was underway.
