RAUTAHAT: A 17-year-old rape victim, a teenager with speech impediment, has been seriously injured after being thrashed mercilessly at Laxmipur Belbichhawa of Rajdevi Municipality in Rautahat district on Sunday evening.

Rajendra Sah and his wife Sumitra Devi Sah, along with their family members, had thrashed the teenage girl black and blue.

“They beat my daughter mercilessly, and also dislocated her left shoulder. She has sustained serious injuries,” complained the victim’s father.

According to him, two persons — Sunil Thakur and Ramashankar Sah alias Guddu — had raped the girl two years ago.

Thakur is currently under judicial custody in Gaur jail whereas Guddu was freed after proving his minority.

“Guddu and his family members have tried to kill the victim time and again but the police have not taken any action against them yet. This has raised the culprits' confidence that they can do anything they want,” added the victim’s father.

“When Guddu, his parents, sisters and brothers abused my daughter mercilessly, I went for help to the nearest Belbichhawa Police Station. When I asked the cops for help, they shouted at me and sent me away from the police station instead of taking action against the culprits,” he said.

“I had no other option but to go directly to the Rautahat District Police Office and register an FIR against them,” stated the victim’s father.

Meanwhile, DSP Ram Kumar Dani at the DPO assured that the police will investigate into the case and take action against the perpetrators.
