House proceedings postponed

KATHMANDU: Immediately after Nepali Congress Vice-President Ramchandra Paudel addressed the House, lawmakers of the agitating Madhes-based parties went to rostrum and chanted slogans demanding fulfilment of their demands. They also demanded resignation of Home Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet for killing agitators and using excessive force against them. As their sloganeering continued despite repeated requests from Speaker Onsari Gharti to let the House proceedings move ahead, the Speaker postponed the House meeting till 11:00am on

November 26.

Madhes-based parties have been obstructing House proceedings since the Parliament elected the new president and vice-president three weeks ago.
