GAUSHALA: A total of 180 candidates to the House of Representatives and State Assembles have forfeited their deposits in Mahottari district.

Chief Returning Officer Pinky Raya said,“Of the 213 candidates, 180 candidates forfeited their deposits. There is a legal provision that out of total valid votes, a candidate should secure 10 per cent. Otherwise, the candidate would forfeit their deposit."

Candidates belonging to various political parties including 36 independent candidates forfeited their deposits in the district.
