KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 14
The Election Commission Nepal has printed 18.23 million ballot papers for 142 House of Representatives (HoR) constituencies across 66 districts as of Saturday.
According to the Commission, ballot papers are being printed at the Janak Education Materials Centre, with around 1.5 million copies produced daily. Printing for 63 districts had been completed earlier, while three additional districts were finalised on Friday.
Ballot papers have already been dispatched for 12 constituencies in 10 Karnali districts - Salyan, Rukum West, Dolpa, Mugu, Humla, Kalikot, Jumla, Jajarkot, Dailekh and Surkhet - said Assistant Spokesperson Prakash Neupane.
The Commission said ballot papers for 23 constituencies in 11 districts, including those in and around the Kathmandu Valley, are yet to be printed. The entire printing process is expected to conclude within a couple of days.
For the proportional representation (PR) system, 20.83 million ballot papers have already been printed. In total, 20.323 million ballot papers are to be printed under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system.
