DHADING: Police have arrested two persons in possession of 38 kilograms of marijuana at Gajuri Bazaar of Gajuri Rural Municipality-1 in Dhading district on Thursday morning.

Their identities are yet to be disclosed.

Acting on a tip off, police seized the contraband while frisking a truck (Na 2 Kha 7311) heading towards Birgunj from Kathmandu this afternoon, said SP Dhruba Raj Raut at the Dhading District Police Office.

The contraband was hidden in 22 sacks and kept in the cabin of the vehicle, said police.

Police also arrested the driver Hridaya Prasad Mahato (27) of Kalyanpur Rural Municipality-4 and impounded the vehicle.

Further investigation is underway.
