2 constables among 4 sent to judicial custody for hostage taking
BIRGUNJ: Parsa District Court ordered that four persons including two police constables be sent to the judicial custody for their alleged involvement in abduction and hostage taking of a local businessman.
A single bench of District Judge Rajendra Nepal made the order on Thursday.
Earlier, the four were arrested on charge of taking Rs 400,000 in ransom after kidnapping Rajesh Kumar Sah Kanu of Birgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-19.
The arrested have been identified as Nepal Police constables Arvind Singh and Binay Singh and locals Deepak Singh of Birgunj-18 and Bhagawan Singh of Birgunj14.
According to SP Raju Babu Shrestha, the alleged kidnappers were arrested on March 26 and facing the abduction and hostage case.
Meanwhile, police took them to the Birgunj Prison to execute the order.
