TANAHUN: A man died and another was injured after a tree fell on his motorcycle at Bandipur Municipality-6 in Tanahun district along the Prithivi Highway on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Som Bahadur Gurung (31) of Aabukharini Municipality. He was travelling to Anbukhairini from Dumre in the district with pillion rider Paras Gurung when the incident occurred.

Both were critically injured and were immediately rushed to a local hospital in Dumre.

The injured motorcyclist breathed his at 11:30 yesterday while he being taken to the Manipal Hospital in Pokhara for further treatment, informed the District Police Office, Tanahun. The body is being kept at the Damauli Hospital for autopsy, police added.

Paras is currently receiving treatment at the Manipal Hospital in Pokhara, the police said.

Meanwhile, Santosh Nepali (17) of Kotdurbar died after he fell off a tree while cutting grass. Nepali was severely injured in the incident. He died while being rushed to the Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara for treatment, informed the DPO.
