NAWALPUR: Two persons died after the motorcycle they were riding on rammed a stationary truck along the East West Highway in Kawasoti Municipality-11 of Nawalpur district on Wednesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Roshan Bahadur Thada Magar (25) and Ratna Ale (20), both the residents of Kawasoti Municipality-5 in the district.

The truck (Na 4 Kha 8622) was rammed by the motorcycle (Lu 36 Pa 5974) from behind that killed its duo riders Magar and Ale on the spot at Lokaha, at around 10:00 pm yesterday, according to the District Police Office, Nawalpur. The motorcycle was heading towards Kawasoti from Narayangadh when the accident occurred, informed police.

The Preliminary investigation points to the speeding and the poor visibility under the foggy conditions at night time, said police.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the heavy four-wheeler and detained its driver for the further investigation into the incident.

It has been learnt that the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their family members.
