KAPILVASTU: A man and a woman were killed in separate road accidents on Tuesday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Jaggu Prasad Chaudhari of Saudiyar VDC, Dang aged 78, and 40-year-old Panmaya Ramtel, a resident of Gauridanda VDC-2, according to the District Police Office, Mahottari. Chaudhari died when a bus met with an accident at Shivapur VDC along the Mahendra Highway in Kapilvastu district.

12 other passengers who were injured are undergoing treatment in Lumbini Zonal Hospital. The condition of Deepak Sunar of Kathmandu, Sarad K.C, Thakur Giri and Jag Bahadur Rokaya of Dang are reported to be critical and they are being treated at the same hospital.

Meanwhile Ramtel died when she was hit by a motorcycle in Mahottari. The culprits are still at large and the police have launched a manhunt for them.
