Two girls held in connection with teenage boy's death
DAMAULI: Police on Wednesday arrested two girls after a teenage boy was found dead in Tanahun.
Sixteen-year-old Purna Bahadur Ale's body was found dangling from a tree in the premises of Aadikavi Bhanubhakta Campus on Monday. He had apparently left his house for tuition on Saturday, and had gone missing since then.
Police earlier suspected that it was a case of suicide. The deceased's kith and kin, however, claimed that the boy was murdered, naming the two girls, who are sisters, as suspects.
An FIR was lodged at the District Police Office, Damauli, charging that the two girls were behind Ale's death, according to Police Inspector Prem Shankar Chaudhary.
One of the two girls was in relationship with Ale, the family told police.
Police have not disclosed the names of suspects.
Earlier, locals had picketed the District Police Office to pile pressures on the law enforcement agencies to look into the case and bring the culprits to book.
They had also obstructed the Prithvi Highway briefly.
Chief of the DPO, SP Mohan Kumar Acharya, said police are looking into the case.
