2 Indian nationals held with pistol in Bara
BARA: Two Indian nationals, who were entering Nepal with a weapon, were arrested from Guliyaria tole in Pacharautu Municipality-4 in Bara district and made public at the District Police Office, on Sunday.
A joint security team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force deployed from the border out post apprehended 20-year-old Chandan Kumar Raya and 19-year-old Sanjaya Kumar Raya of East Champaran in Bihar of India.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raj Kumar Baidawar, the duo who appeared to be entering Nepal on suspicious condition, tried to escape during routine security check in the area after boarding a car plated DL2CQ 4053.
Later, police circled the vehicle before taking them in custody, Baidawar shared. Police also recovered Italian made 9mm Browning Pistol strapped onto the body of one of the suspects. Its magazine and two rounds of bullets were also seized while frisking them.
Police also found a placard 'Jana Adhikar Yuwa Parishad Bihar' from the vehicle.
Meanwhile, police are preparing to file a case under the Arms and Ammunition Regulation Act, 1962 at the court after investigation, DSP Baidawar said.
