2 killed, 1 injured in two separate road accidents in Chitwan

CHITWAN: Two persons were killed and another injured in two separate road accidents in Chitwan district on Friday night.

According to Chitwan District Police Office, a person died after he fell off a motorcycle at Piple in Rapti Municipality-1 in the district.

The deceased has been identified as Gopi Lal Syangtan (27) of Kankada in Raksirang Rural Municipality-6 of Makawanpur district. Police said, the motorcycle (Na 9 Pa 9932) heading towards Ratnanagar from Lothar ran out of control and fell on the road killing its rider Syangtan on the spot.

Likewise, a person died and another sustained critical injuries after the motorcycle they were riding on rear-ended a stationary truck at Shanti Chok in Ratnanagar Municipality-3 in the district.

Police identified the deceased as Ramji Mahato (30) and the injured as Krishna Nath Mahato (22), both residents of Padampur in Kalika Municipality-4 in Chitwan.

According to the DPO, Mahato duo were critically injured as the motorcycle (Na 63 Pa 6524) heading towards Ratnanagar from Khairahani rammed the truck (Na 6 Kha 1175).

The injured were rushed to Bharatpur-based Chitwan Medical College where Ramji died during the course of treatment while Krishna Nath is receiving treatment, police informed.

The investigation into the fatal accidents are underway.
