KATHMANDU: Two persons were killed and fourteen others sustained injuries after a bus they were travelling on met with an accident at Tinkilo along Araniko Highway in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-7 in Sindhupalchok district on Thursday.

The Sindhupalchok District Police Office identified the deceased as Mukti Nath Ghimire (76) and his wife Ratna Kumari Ghimire (66) of Lami Danda in Dolakha district.

They breathed their last while undergoing treatment at the Khadichaur-based Sindhu Sadabahar Hospital pvt. according to police.

Meanwhile, the other injured are undergoing treatment at the same health facility.

Police informed that the ill-feted bus (Ba 3 Kha 5056) fell some 10 metres down the road after its brake failure.
