2 killed, 2 injured in bike-bus collision in Tanahun
DAMAULI: Two personsdied and two others sustained injuries after the motorcycle they were travelling on collided with an accident with a passenger bus in Byas Municipality-12 along Damauli-Dumre road section of Prithvi Highway in Tanahun district on Saturday night.
The deceased have been identified as Raj Ray (20) of Rerwa Rural Municipality-3 and Dhiraj Chaudhary (21) of Sugauli, both in Parsa district; and injured have been identified as Bhola Chaudhary (21) and Sanjay Chaudhary (22), both of Pataura Sugauli in Birgunj, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sunil Malla, at the District Police Office, Tanahun.
The incident occurred when the bus (Na 5 Kha 3082) en route from Pokhara to Kakarbhitta and the motorcycle (Na 55 Pa 1594) collided head-on at a turning near Kamalbari, critically injuring four travelling in the motorcycle, informed DSP Malla.
Among the injured, Raj Ray and Dhiraj Chaudary breathed their last the same night at Damauli Hospital while undergoing treatment while remaining two have been sent to Pokhar-based Gandaki Hospital for treatment, informed police.
It has been learnt that the two-wheeler had veered off to the wrong side of the road and collided with the bus.
Meanwhile, both the bodies have been kept at Damauli Hosptial for postmortem and bus driver has been detained for futher investigation, said DSP Malla.
