4 killed, 10 missing in landslide
UPDATE:
At least four persons died and 10 others went missing when a landslide occurred at Lalighat Bazaar of Kotwada VDC in Kalikot last night.
The landslide swept away more than two dozen shops and damaged property worth around Rs 200 million. Rescue teams have been deputed from the district headquarters to the landslide hit area.
Chief District Officer of Kalikot, Pradeep Shrestha, shared that the actual number of deaths could be ascertained only after the rescue teams completed their work. Police said more than a dozen locals have gone missing after the landslide.
3 killed, 6 injured in Kalikot landslide
KATHMANDU: Three persons died and six others sustained critical injuries when a landslide struck a village in Kalikot district in the wee hours of Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Dhanmatti Tamata of Syuna-2, Hira Tiwari of Syuna-5 and Laxman Bhandari of Dhaulagoha.
According to Chief District Officer (CDO) Pradip Shrestha, the landslide that hit the settlement at around 12:30 am buried 20 houses at Lalighat Bazaar in Kotwada-6 of the district.
Shrestha informed that the injured have been sent to the District Hospital for treatment.
The exact details of loss and damage to human lives and properties are yet to be established.
