BAITADI: Two persons were killed on the spot and two others were injured after a jeep they were travelling on fell below a road in Shivanath Rural Municipality-2 of Baitadi district today.

The deceased have been identified as Lal Singh Mahata (58) of Shivanath Rural Municipality-4 in Baitadi district and the jeep driver Shiva Chaudhary of Attariya in Godawari Municipality of Kailali district.

The injured have been identified as the jeep owner Hikmat Bohara of Godawari Municipality-1 and Haridutta Bhatta of Melauli Municipality-9 in Baitadi district.

The incident occurred when the jeep (Se 1 Cha 1158) heading towards Kushmatghat from Sullekhan of the district fell around 20 metres below the road at 11:00 am, according to the Deputy Superintendent of Police Heramba Sharma at the District Police Office, Baitadi.
