2 Maoists killed in security operations

Dhangadhi, February 13:
Two Maoists were killed today in security operations in Achham and Baitadi districts, according to a press release issued by Dipayal-based RNA far-west Pritana headquarters.
The security forces also seized weapons, explosives and equipment used in laying of ambushes, states the release.
The body of one Maoist was found after an offensive launched under unified command in Jaygadh Chhatasen area of Achham.
The offensive in which a long-range gun was used, was launched on suspicion that Maoists had gathered in the area.
Quoting local residents, the Pritana has speculated heavy causality on the Maoists’ side.
Another Maoist was killed in Baskauli area of Baitadi, stated Pritana, adding two other Maoists, who were wounded in the skirmish, were able to flee.
The security forces have seized socket bombs, medicines, radio and other things used in laying ambushes.
Security forces also foiled a Maoist programme being held at the Birkham school premises at Kalika village development committee.
