21 construction companies face action in Bagmati province
BAGMATI: The Road Division Office, Hetauda has proceeded to take action against 21 construction companies who have failed to complete agreed projects in time.
The contracts awarded to those companies for the road projects based in Makawanpur, Bara and Parsa districts cancelled as per the Clause 59 of the Public Procurement Act, 2063, informed Yogesh Suman chief at the Road Division Office, Hetauda. The office has started the process to blacklist the companies, he added.
They were forced to resort to this move as the companies did not come in contact despite issuing a notice in this regard time and again, Chief Suman said.
The road project contracts were awarded to the companies 11 years ago.
The companies in question include seven based in Makawanpur, six in Parsa, three in Bara and one in Kathmandu.
Bank collateral put by the companies would be seized and the remaining money to be paid recovered, said Suman.
Efforts were underway to take action against other construction companies failing to complete projects, he said.
