The Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine Centre in Ramechhap provided treatment services to around 22,000 people during the last fiscal year, reflecting growing use of Ayurvedic healthcare services in the district.
The figures were shared during a programme held in Manthali on Saturday to review the centre's activities and service delivery over the past year.
Centre Chief Deepak Karki said the facility has expanded Ayurvedic healthcare services to all eight local levels of Ramechhap district.
According to Karki, public interest in Ayurvedic treatment has been increasing, prompting the centre to prioritise service expansion and improve access to healthcare.
He said the centre has also been conducting awareness programmes to promote understanding and effective use of Ayurvedic treatment services.
Bagmati Province Assembly member Anand Shrestha said authorities should focus on strengthening and expanding Ayurvedic healthcare services, stressing the need for a more organised system to ensure quality care.
Manthali Municipality Mayor Lav Shrestha also called for broader access to Ayurvedic treatment at the local level and urged efforts to make services more effective in addressing people's healthcare needs.
Ramechhap District Coordination Committee Vice-Chairperson Prem Sagar Thapa and other speakers highlighted the importance and potential contribution of Ayurvedic medicine within the healthcare system.
The programme, chaired by Centre Chairperson Nawaraj Pathik, also emphasised the need to make Ayurvedic services more accessible and effective for residents throughout the district.
Participants said continued investment, awareness efforts and service expansion would be important to improving access to Ayurvedic healthcare across Ramechhap.
