232 new cases take nationwide Covid-19 tally to 269,180

KATHMANDU: Nepal on Saturday reported 232 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 269,180.

Of the total cases, 91 are females while 141 are males.

In the last 24 hours, 109 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases.

Likewise, 386 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 263,734 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 97.9 per cent.

Nepal’s active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 3,452.

Meanwhile, eight more fatalities from the disease have taken the total death-toll to 1,994.

According to the health ministry, 3,541 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,038,842 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 147 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

Globally, over 98 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.6 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 70 million people have recovered from the disease and around 25 million cases are still active.

On Friday, Nepal’s coronavirus case count reached 268,948 with 302 newly confirmed cases.
