DAMAULI: At least 24 persons were injured when a commuter bus met with an accident at Mathillo Gundadi of Jamune VDC-4 of Tanahun on Tuesday.

According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, the bus (Ga 1 Kha 5473) was heading towards Pokhara from Narayangarh when the accident occurred.

According to a preliminary investigation, the driver lost control of the vehicle and fell some 10 metres down the road.

Among the injured, eight are receiving treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital, Gandaki Medical College and Metro City Hospital of Pokhara.

Police suspect that the incident might have occurred due to over- speed.

Police said that they have impounded the bus and arrested its driver for investigation.
