26 people found dengue-infected in Chitwan
CHITWAN: As many as 26 people were found infected with dengue in the past three months in Chitwan district.
The District Public Health Office shared this information today at an orientation programme on destroying the breeding places of mosquitoes.
It is learned that 26 people were found infected with the disease in course of testing the blood samples of 453 people.
According to Vector Disease Control Unit official Ram KC, as many as 119 people were found infected by the disease in the last fiscal year.
KC added that five persons were killed by the disease in course of treatment in the fiscal year 2010/11. Altogether 729 people were found infected that year.
The DPHO has planned to organise a two-day training on destroying the breeding place of mosquitoes and implementing preventive measures from coming Sunday.
Bharatpur Municipality, Ratnanagar, Madi, Khairhani and Kalika Municipality of the district are taken as the dengue-prone zones.
