26 schools produce nil results in SLC

BHOJPUR/KHOTANG: As many as 26 schools from Bhojpur and Khotang have produced nil results in the School Leaving Certificate Examinations 2014.

Twelve schools from Bhojpur and 14 from Khotang failed to produce a single SLC graduate.

Khartamchha Secondary School of Khartamchha, Kalika Secondary, Helaunchha; Suryodaya Secondary, Thulodumma; Pashupati Secondary, Timma; Kalika Secondary, Okhre; Pashupati Secondary, Khawa; Behereswor Secondary, Manebhanjyang; Sikshya Kanya Secondary, Bayang; Sishu Sikshya Development Secondary, Sindrang; Prajatantra Secondary, Homtang; Panchakanya Secondary, Washingtharpu; and Laxmi Secondary, Pancha; failed to pass even a single SLC candidate. The previous year too, twelve schools had produced nil results in the SLC.

Similarly, schools including Damli Secondary, Dikuwa; Balbalika Secondary, Mattim; Siddeswori Secondary, Khidi; Shanti Secondary, Chhorembu; Saraswoti Secondary and Janata Secondary, Batase; failed to pass a single SLC candidate in Khotang. As many as eleven schools from the district had registered nil results in the previous year.

According to data at DEO, Siddeswori Secondary, Khidi, failed to pass a single candidate for three consecutive years; while Jalapa Secondary, Nunthala, produced zero result for the second consecutive year. Around 15.97 per cent students of Khotang passed the SLC this year against last year’s 12.5 per cent.

Meanwhile, Nawalparasi recorded a pass percentage of 53.43 this year. Bhawana Acharya from Shanti Namuna Higher Secondary School in Rupandehi has secured 91.87 per cent. School Assistant Principal Kul Prasad Lamichhane said that Acharya’s score could be the highest in the district.

Similarly, 69.75 students from Chitwan got through the SLC this year. Jhapa, Panchthar and Dhading registered pass percentage of 56.52, 26 and 62.53 in the SLC results respectively.
