Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in Nepal cross seven millio

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 11

The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has surpassed seven million.

A total of 2,466,244 covishiled vaccine doses have been administered till date, of which 1,868,425 beneficiaries have been vaccinated for the first dose while 597,819 have received the second dose of vaccine.

Similarly, 2,702,128 individuals have received their first dose and 1,083,403 their second dose of Verocell vaccine. Verocell constitutes a majority of doses administered in the country.

Furthermore, with Johnson and Johnson's single-dose Covid-19 vaccine getting approval for emergency use, as many as 1,207,138 have been administered with the vaccine.

J&J's vaccine was the third COVID-19 vaccine to be available in Nepal after Covishield and Verocell.

So far, a total of 7,458,913 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 4,570,553 have received the first dose while only 2,888,360 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, in terms of percentage, 15.05 % of the country's population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 9.51% is fully vaccinated.
