Light aftershock of ML 4.1 jolts Dolakha
KATHMANDU: A light tremor of local magnitude 4.1 struck Dolakha district on Friday morning.
The National Seismological Centre, Lainchaur, listed it as an aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake that rattled Nepal on April 25 last year.
The tremor was recorded at 4:08 am today with its epicentre at Gaurishankar Conservation Area of the district.
The coordinates of the epicentre are 27.84°N, 86.16°E.
Two aftershocks were recorded earlier on Thursday.
An aftershock of local magnitude 4.3 had jolted Lamjung district of western Nepal at 2.44 pm and second aftershock with local magnitude 4.4 had rattled Sindhupalchok district at 5.38 pm.
NSC has recorded more than 30,000 aftershocks of the Gorkha earthquake in one year.
It, however, processed the data of around 460 significant aftershocks and alerted the public about the seismic events through its website.
