3 APF personnel injured in blast

Bhairahawa, March 31:

Three Armed Police Force (APF) personnel were injured when their vehicle was ambushed by the Maoists at Bangunga bridge on the Mahendra Highway.

The security personnel were patrolling in the vehicle when it was ambushed at about 2 pm today.

Of the four vehicles en route to Tauliahwa from Chandraut, the last one was caught in the ambush. APF constable Padama BC, who received injury in his eyes, is undergoing treatment at Ran-Ambika Shah Eye Hospital, Bhairahawa. The other two security personnel are yet to be identified. Their condition is reported to be normal. The Maoists have claimed responsibility saying that some one dozen security personnel were injured in the incident.
