3 dead as truck plunges onto Hugdikhola bank in Dhading

DHADING: As many as three persons were killed after a truck they were travelling on fell over a bridge along the Prithvi Highway in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-9 of Dhading district on Friday morning.

Police have identified the deceased as Sanju Rai (19) of Nuwakot district, Jeevan Lama (25) of Thori in Parsa disrict and Nara Bahadur Khatri (46) of Simara in Bara district.

The incident occurred after the truck (Na 6 Kha 3123) heading towards Muglin from Kathmandu plunged down 50 metres over Hugdikhola Bridge onto the river bank, killing Rai and khatri on the spot and fatally injuring Lama at around 5:00 am today, according to the Jogimara-based Police Post.

Lama breathed his last on the way to a nearest health institution, said police.

Meanwhile, police are investigating into the incident.

The incident site is at the distance of 150 metres from the confluence of Hugdikhola and Trishuli River.
