Lahan, July 17:

Police today arrested three persons for trying to smuggle 350 kg of hashish to India.

Police impounded a truck (Na 1 Kha 759) on Lahan-Thandi road section near Indian border and seized 350 kg of hashish from 32 different parcels, SP Narayan Bastakoti said. The hashish was being smuggled by hiding it in the cabin of the truck.

Police have arrested truck driver Raju Thapa, a resident of Dubarbana-7, Bara, truck owner Ram Bilas Kuswaha of Birgunj-16 and hashish trafficker Sona Lal Yadav of Bhawaratar-3, Parsa, police said. Kuswaha and Yadav were arrested from local Samrat Hotel, SP Bastakoti said. Four days ago police had arrested three persons and seized 73 kg of hashish from Lahan area of the Mahendra Highway.
