Janakpurdham: One policeman and two civilians were injured when Maoists attacked them at Jaleshwor municipality-1 this morning. The injured were identified as assistant police inspector Bharat Thakur, 45, and locals Dilip Chaudhary, 26, and Manoj Yadav, 22. "They fired from so near that it was impossible to flee," Chaudhary said.While Yadav is undergoing treatment at the Janakpur Zonal Hospital, Thakur and Chaudhary, who were critically injured, have been airlifted to the capital for treatment. The local bazaar was closed following the attack. The police have begun a search operation to nab the assailants. —HNS
