3 injured as poly firm catches fire in Sunsari

BHOJPUR: A massive fire broke out at the Hanumanta Poly Factory in Sonapur-1 of Sunsari district on Tuesday, injuring three workers.

The injured have been identified as Dilip Chaudhary (40) of Duhabi-4, Raju Yadav (25) of Bihar, India and Amrit Shrestha of Kathmandu, informed the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar.

They were injured while trying to contain the fire, police said.

The incident occurred at around 6:15 pm yesterday.

All the injured are being treated at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Personnel from the Nepal Police and the Nepal Army with the help of fire brigades from Biratnagar, Dharan, Damak, Birtamod, Kakadbhitta, Rajbiraj, Itahari and Inaruwa doused the fire at around 2 am today.

Details of the property destroyed in the blaze are yet to be established, informed the Area Police Office, Duhabi.
