Janakpurdham, May 27 :

At least three persons were killed and 53 injured when a truck carrying them met with an accident at Masuriya in Dhanusha district today.

The truck was carrying people to the venue of a CPN-Maoist meeting scheduled for today in Janakpur. The deceased include Dhanik Lal Mahato of Golbazaar Siraha and Dhunari Sada. The injured are undergoing treatment in Janakpur zonal hospital and Dharan hospital.

The condition of most of the injured is reported to be critical.

In another mishap, eight persons were injured when a truck met with an accident at Dhalkebar in Dhanusha today. They were also going to participate in Maoists’ programme in Janakpur.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Lahan hospital.
