30 children with disabilities get wheelchairs in Pokhara

POKHARA: As many as 30 children with disabilities were provided with a wheelchair each in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City on Monday.

With the monetary help of the Tokyo-based Volunteers' Group, the distribution of wheelchairs was coordinated by CBRS-Pokhara amid a programme in the metropolis yesterday.

According to Krishna Lamichhane, Programme Coordinator at the CBRS, Pokhara, the children from Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City from wards 1 to 22 were selected  for the programme, adding that another 30 wheelchairs would be further distributed in rest of the wards of the metropolis on January 13.

It has been learnt that the cost of the wheelchairs that were distributed ranged from Rs 15,000 to 30,000 each.

Similarly, in the programme, Bain Bahadur Chhetri, Coordinator at the District Coordination Committee, Kaski lauded the work done by the organisation for the children with disabilities and asserted to provide further support to their work.
