NAWALPARASI: The Gaidakot Area Police Office today destroyed locally produced 3,000 litres of hooch in Nawalparasi district.

Police Inspector Lok Bahadur GC at the Area Police Office, Gaidakot, said, "The hooch was destroyed in presence of Gaidakot Municipality Deputy Mayor Bishnu Kandel and ward chairs along with others."

The locally brewed 3,000 litres of alcohol was seized from ward number 1 and 2 while carrying out night inspection in the municipality. "The night patrol team seized a large amount of hooch yesterday," Inspector GC said.

Earlier, the patrol team had seized 150 litres of liquor from 'Hamro Sekuwa Corner and Tanahun Thapa Sekuwa Corner' during night inspection on Monday night. It was also destroyed today.

Meanwhile, police have continued inspection under a campaign to curb addiction, drug and alcohol abuse in the Municipality.
