32 MJF-D cadres injured in Saptari bus accident

RAJBIRAJ: At least 32 people were injured when a Biratnagar-bound bus met with an accident in Kanchanpur of the district along the East-West Highway on Monday.

The bus (Na 4 Kha 9743) was travelling to Biratnagar from Dhangadhi when the accident occurred near the Kanchanpur-based Kanchanpur Barrier, police said.

The passengers are cadres of said to be the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic (MJF-D) cadres heading attend the MJF-D's general convention in Biratnagar.

The passengers with minor injuries are being treated at the Dharmeshor Hospital, Theliya.

Among them, Bimala Chaudhary, Ram Prasad Chaudhary, Siriya Chaudhary and Hari Krishna Chaudhary of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-16 were critically injured and they are being treated at the Neuro and Nobel Hospitals in Biratnagar, informed Police Inspector Gaurav Mahat of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.

According to Mahat, the accident occurred in an attempt to save a cow on the road.

Police, along with the help from the locals, have rescued the injured passengers.
