MAHOTTARI: Police in Mahottari district have confiscated 33 cows and a calf being smuggled to India on Sunday.

The traders were on their way to India from Nepal via a jungle area in Samsi VDC-5 near the western border when the police deployed from Samsi Police Beat got hold of them.

SP Janak Bhattarai of the District Police Office informed that the bovines in their custody have been sent to the Customs Office in Bhittamod for further investigation.
