33 percent women participation in Cabinet: Minister Thapa

KATHMANDU: Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Tham Maya Thapa has opined for ensuring 33 percent women's participation in the Cabinet.

Speaking at a programme organised by the Reporters' Club on Thursday in the Capital, Minister Thapa added that this was essential as per the constitutional provision as well. She further stressed on empowering local levels for the holistic development of local areas.

CPN-UML leader Mahesh Basnet said that the Cabinet could be expanded soon.

In the programme, Nepali Congress leader Ram Krishna Yadav shared that the NC will be a responsible opposition respecting the public mandate.

Likewise, CPN Maoist Centre leader Aman Lal Modi shared that the left alliance was forged for prosperity, development and stability in the country.
