340 socket bombs found in Salyan village
SALYAN: A huge amount of socket bomb was discovered in Korbang Jhimpe VDC in Salyan district Thursday.
A temporary police unit in Jhimpe found 340 socket bombs in Korbang Jhimpe VDC– 8, said the unit’s in-charge Ramji Pariyar.
Later, a bomb disposal team from the Bhairav Prasad Battalion of Nepal Army, Salyan, defused the bombs.
The security forces have assumed that the bombs could have been hidden by the Maoist insurgents during the decade-long conflict.
It is the first time such a huge cache of bombs was discovered in the district, police said.
