Sindhupalchowk, July 7:

Part of the annual budget meant for 39 VDCs of the Sindhupalchowk district for this fiscal year has not been released yet, though the fiscal 2063/064 year is almost to an end.

The Sindhupalchowk DDC said that Rs 1.62 lakh out of Rs 5 lakh, that was to be provided to the VDCs under the third instalment, has not yet been provided because the VDCs have not yet submitted their bills and evaluation of previous two instalments to the DDC.

However, the DDC released funds under the third instalment to other VDCs on June 27.

There is a provision of closing the bank accounts of government offices from July 9.

VDC officials are wondering how a VDC will utilise an amount of Rs 1.62 lakh within seven days if the third instalment is released. Work on local projects has been affected due to lack of funds.
