4 constituent colleges in Terai

BHAKTAPUR: The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), with the financial assistance from foreign agencies will set up four constituent colleges in various districts of Terai region, conducting Bachelor level classes.

"Work on construction of the building and infrastructure of the four colleges have already been started." Bishnu Koirala, chief of the Technical and Vocational Training Expansion Unit at CTEVT said adding that the colleges are being set up for providing technical skill training to the students especially those from the Terai region.

Construction of Santa Alpamai Ramnarayan Raya Yadav Nursing College at Malangawa, Sarlahi district and the Gaur Nursing Institute in Gaur, Rautahat is underway.

Both the colleges are to be constructed on an area of 38.5 bighas of land and will be completed at the cost of Rs. 50 million each.

Similarly, construction of Tikapur Polytechnic College has started in Tikapur, Kailali on a 25 bigha plot of land. The estimated construction cost of the polytechnic college is Rs. 45 million.

Another technical college, the Korea Nepal Institute of Technology, is to be constructed in Butwal. The government of Korea is going to construct the college building.

Likewise, an agreement has been reached to construct a polytechnic in Hetauda next year with financial assistance of Rs. 35 million from India and an additional assistance from the Government of Nepal.
