KHOTANG: Four persons were injured when a vehicle of Sherpa Construction Pvt Ltd veered off and fell down the road in Diktel of Khotang district on Monday.

The injured have been identified as driver Surya Tamang, accountant Pradip Khadka, cook Bhim Bahadur Bhujel and crusher operator Khadga Bahadur Ale, informed DSP Nabin Kishor Pradhan of the Khotang District Police Office.

They have sustained injuries on their head, hands, legs and back. All of the injured are being treated at the Khotang District Hospital. They are out of danger, police informed.

Five persons were travelling on the vehicle, which was transporting some construction equipment. The fifth passenger was found unhurt outside the car.

Police said the accident occurred when the vehicle, travelling uphill, tried to avoid a street dog and experienced the brake fail. It fell some 20 metres off the road.
