KANCHANPUR: As many as four local youths of Jhalari VDC of Kanchanpur district were injured when the police opened fire on them after they were mistakenly identified as dacoits on Friday night. The incident occured after the locals of Kalapani informed the police that they saw some suspicious people in their place. The injured are Gopal Dutta Bhatta, 17, Bhan Dev Bhatta, 19, Harish Joshi, 20, and Krishna Bahadur Mahara. There have sustained injuries in different parts of the body. However, injured youths complained the intoxicated police of firing them without any warning. Police inspector Karna Bahadur Chand admitted that the incident occurred due to lack of communication between them and the locals.
