Apart from the locals’ homes, the Bauddha monastery, historical rest place, Gumustha building, Kalika Gorakhnath temple, Sel Syambhu temple, Bhimshen Than, Mayorkot Than, the building of Shukla lower secondary school and Sishaughari, are in danger.

The erosion is also a big threat to the Byas municipality building and a 200-metre-long suspension bridge to Kanhu VDC.

Though several delegations have visited the municipality regarding the problem, not a single response has been had from the sector concerned.

When contacted, the executive officer of Byas municipality Krishna Sharma Poudel, said that barrages would be constructed in phases along the river banks after preparing estimates following on-the-spot visits.
