KATHMANDU, APRIL 18
Forty-one people have lost their lives in disaster-related incidents since the beginning of the pre-monsoon season this year.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), a total of 257 individuals sustained injuries, and property worth millions of rupees was damaged during this period.
The pre-monsoon season is currently underway in the country, typically spanning from March to May.
In a notice issued today, the Authority stated that light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is occurring in several parts of the country due to the influence of local and westerly winds. This weather pattern is expected to persist for the next few days.
Meanwhile, the Authority has urged the public to stay informed by following disaster-related information, forecasts, and warnings issued by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. It also called on everyone to remain vigilant and contribute to building a safer and more resilient community.
