425th significant aftershock of Nepal earthquake recorded in Dolakha

KATHMANDU: A light tremor was recorded in Dolakha district of eastern Nepal on Friday evening.

The National Seismological Centre listed the tremor as an aftershock of the April 25 earthquake and said it was of local magnitude 4.1.

The coordinates of the epicentre are given as 27.63°N, 86.25°E. The location lies between Jiri and Rosi, east of the district headquarters Charikot.

According to the National Seismological Centre, it was 425th significant aftershock of local magnitude 4.0 or above that followed the devastating ML 7.6 earthquake.

Around 9,000 people were killed in Nepal in the April 25 earthquake and its powerful May 12 aftershock.
