Nepali Congress local leader shot dead
JANAKAPURDHAM: An unidentified group shot dead a 45-year-old man at his home in Bariya Tole of Balabakhar VDC-4 in Dhanusa district on Friday.
The deceased man has been identified as Rajendra Prasad Yadav of the area.
According to the District Police Office, Dhanusha, Yadav, who received three bullets in his abdomen, chest and neck, died on the spot.
The body of Yadav has been sent to the Janakpur Zonal Hospital for autopsy.
Yadav was the regional representative of Nepali Congress from Balabakhar VDC.
Police informed that they have already started an investigation into the case.
Meanwhile, Prithvi Singh, commandar of the Janatantrik Tiger Janashakti Party claimed responsibility for the attack.
NC cadre shot at in Dhanusha
Similarly, two motorcycle-borne assailants shot at a man in Dhanusha on Saturday morning.
Police informed that Nepali Congress active member Nasimullah Rayen (40) of Bharatpur, Charnath Municipality-2 of Dhanusha district was critically injured in the incident.
According to the District Police Office, Dhanusha, the incident occurred when Rayen had gone to Birendra Bazaar to purchase medicines at around 8 am.
Critically injured Rayen was rushed to the Janakpur Zonal Hospital for treament. Later, he was referred to a hospital in Dharan.
SP Ram Dutta Joshi of the DPO, Dhanusha said that they have started a manhunt to nab the miscreants.
