47 hurt in mishaps

Pokhara, April 18:

Altogether 47 persons were injured in two separate accidents in Pokhara, Palpa and Lamahi today.

In Pokhara, 33 people were hurt when a passenger bus (Na 1 Kha 1263) heading for Baglung from Pokhara met with an accident at Hemjaphant along the Bhupi Sherchan Highway today. Three passengers Laxmi Chhetri, Umanath Subedi and Sharada Prasad Siwakoti, who were critically hurt have been undergoing treatment at Phewa Hospital in Pokhara, the Kaski district police office said, adding that the others who sustained minor injuries returned home after treatment.

In another incident, 11 persons were hurt when a jeep (Lu 1 Ja 1117) heading for Tansen from Palpa met an accident at Telgha-3 on Friday, the Palpa District Police Office said. Of the injured, condition of Indira Chidi and Naran Rana is critical, the Tansen Mission Hospital said.

A report from Lamahi said four persons were injured when a passenger bus heading for Nepalgunj from Dang met with accident at Satbariya in east-west highway today. The injured have been taken to Nepalgunj for further treatment after first-aid in Lamahi, police said.
