SC upholds five years jail-term awarded to Manange
KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Tuesday has upheld five years jail-term verdict awarded to Rajiv Gurung alias Dipak Manange.
A joint session bench of Justices Deepak Raj Joshi and Purushottam BhandariĀ issued the verdict on Tuesday. Four accused in a murder case had earlier been convicted by the Patan Appellate Court which had sentenced five year jail-term to Manange for his alleged involvement. Gurung had not filed any writ challenging the verdict.
The convict, Rajiv Gurung, had run for and won the Provincial elections from Manang as an independent candidate. His status as the Member of Provincial Parliament will now be dissolved following the SC decision.
