49 Dhankuta families displaced by landslips
DHANKUTA: As many as 49 families have been displaced from Dhankuta due to landslides in recent times, the District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) said.
Landslides and flood triggered by incessant rainfall damaged property worth around Rs 520 million in the district, according to DDMC Co-ordinator and Chief District Officer (CDO) Sita Ram Karki.
Three persons were reported missing in Tamor River and 49 families have been displaced following the disaster in the district, CDO Karki shared.
According to Sudhir Safi, Communication Officer at the District Administration Office, Dhankuta, said a final report of property loss caused by recent flood and landslip is yet to come.
DDMC distributed relife items--tents, blankets, clothes, utensils, foods to the victims of the affected areas in the district, Safi shared.
Although the road division and local level used dozers to clear landslide debris along Koshi Highway, vehicular movement in full flow is yet to resume, Communication Officer Safi added.
