KATHMANDU: At least five people were injured when a bus met with an accident at the 5-km area along the Rupani-Rajbiraj road section of Saptari district on Thursday.

According to the District Police Office, Saptari, the injured have been identified as Chote Lal Sah (40) of Madhepura-5, Marmi Maya Chaudhary (50) of Manthali-2, Saroj Kumar Thakur (29) of Rajbiraj-2, Hari Nath Das (45) of Rajbiraj-2 and Ana Devi Sah (45) of Madhepura-5.

Police said that the accident occurred when the bus (Na 4 Kha 3888), travelling North from South lost control because of the fog at 11:50 pm yesterday.

The injured have sustained minor injuries for which they are being treated at the Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital, police added.

The driver and the conductor of the bus are reportedly safe.

The bus is partially damaged and has been sent to garage.
